I want to learn C++?

can anyone give me a good link to a free site to learn C++ i have never learnt anything within the programing field beofr ebut im pretty decent with computers and would like to learn this language. I have already googled C++ guides, C++, learning C++ ect. ect. and the results are overwhelming so if someone could give me a good site that is "idiotproof" that would be great thanks

Start with Thinking in C++. Look for that book and other C++ books on Amazon.





Why are you learning computer programming? At what stage of life are you in? A teen? student? then ok.





When you are done with Thinking in C++ book, subscribe to comp.lang.c++ group on googlegroups. People over there can answer most of the C++ programming and design related questions.

Reply:well well well... if i WERE you, I would first learn a simpler language, like actionscript in flash. You can make cool games and it's kinda easy. It's also an easier step to go from flash to C++ then going from nothing to C++. As for a tutorial on it, i would recomend getting a book on it, like C++ For Dummies because that is a really good way to learn
